I was asked to give a talk about honesty and truthfulness.

So I went home and sat down and thought and thought.

I tried to think of something that represents these qualities to the fullest, and what I came up with is this...

...It's a roll of Toilet Paper.

Out on the Appalachian Trail, away from civilized living for weeks and weeks, this is referred to as "White Gold"

because it is so valuable in keeping one's life clean...

Just as honesty and truthfulness are important in keeping our lives free from blemishes...

These three things, honesty, truthfulness, and Toilet Paper are important because when you're facing hard times,

these things always come from behind and help out.

And when you don't have enough of one of these, things can really get messy.

You can never have too much. The more you use, the better off you feel.

Toilet paper is famous for two things:

There is the obvious

and then there's rolling houses.

Rolling houses.

You can go throw all of your toilet paper away in senseless pandamonium,

causing all kind of destruction and mayhem,

And granted it might be fun at the time,

but the next day when you're sitting there staring at an empty Toilet Paper Roll,

at that moment you'd give anything to have just a little of what you so carelessly threw away.

But you have none left...

You wasted it all on some thing that didn't even matter.

And when you're integrity looks like this

empty toilet paper roll...

That's when life really starts to stink.
